Community Partners

Rivanna Conservation Society
The Rivanna Conservation Society aims to protect the largely unspoiled beauty of the Rivanna River and to maintain a healthy ecosystem throughout the river's watershed.

DC EcoWomen
DC EcoWomen works to empower women environmentalists by building a community that fosters networking, collaboration, and career building opportunities.

International Rescue Committee
Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) was established to assist victims of Nazi persecution. Today, the IRC is one of the world's leading nonsectarian refugee relief organizations and is consistently ranked among the leading charities in the United States. Of every dollar IRC spends, at least 90 cents go to refugee programs and services. Forbes has highlighted the IRC as one of three efficient and effective charities most qualified to make a real difference in impoverished areas of the world.

The Charlottesville Office of the IRC was established in June 1998 and resettles approximately 150 refugees each year. The office assists clients in obtaining housing, English language training and health care when they first arrive, and then helps them to find jobs and become self-sufficient as quickly as possible after arrival.

We are a proud employer of IRC clients.

CPAR Tanzania
Not all of our community partners are within driving distance. CPAR's work Tanzania is directed at improving the health and well being of those who are most vulnerable. Projects include primary healthcare, rainwater harvesting for schools, and natural resource management. The Rivanna/CPAR Partnership is an exciting alliance for us, and you can help make it stronger!
