Making Trophies from Scratch...and Scraps

Making Trophies from Scratch... and Scraps
Despite our best efforts to minimize wood waste through prudent design and careful manufacturing, we still end up with small scraps that need to be diverted from the waste stream. We can compost them, of course — but in 2015, we started thinking it might be more fun to turn them into awards.
After some brainstorming with our design and woodworking teams, we created three limited-edition trophies: HappenStack, BoardWalk, and HighStakes. Each piece is unique, and quantities are naturally limited — because we really do minimize waste.
About the Labels
As a Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) chain-of-custody provider (FSC-C019049), we take FSC labeling seriously. Our scrap wood awards are labeled FSC MIX because they are made from FSC-certified woods used in our regular production.
The FSC Recycled label is reserved for wood and wood fiber that has been reclaimed from post-consumer products. Our scrap wood is a post-industrial material, not post-consumer, so these awards are correctly labeled FSC MIX in accordance with FSC guidelines.
These designs remain among our most popular — a testament to the beauty of conservation, creative reuse, and responsible sourcing. You can still find HappenStack, BoardWalk, and HighStakes in our catalog today.
