Awards for All is an in-kind grant program from Rivanna Natural Designs that provides free awards to nonprofits and public schools. The program is targeted toward groups that are fighting to end systemic racism and promote environmental justice.
Grant Guidelines
Rivanna Natural Designs would like to work with your nonprofit organization or school to bring an end to systemic racism and protect underrepresented communities from adverse environmental impacts. Through our Awards for All program, we offer an in-kind grant to qualifying nonprofits and schools to bring our awards to your organization.
We’ll commit to donating our award products to you (up to $5,000 annually) for three years to support your efforts to fight anti-racism and promote environmental justice.
Applications must be received at Rivanna at least six months prior to your award event.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking to help organizations who, like us, are committed to positive social change and a healthy planet. This is for organizations who:
- Are nonprofits recognized under section 501(c)(3)
OR
- Public schools recognized under 170(c)(1) (with priority given to high-poverty and mid-high poverty schools)
This is not for:
- Political campaigns of any kind
We accept one proposal per organization each calendar year, with deadlines on a rolling basis. Our typical in-kind grant will fund awards over three award seasons (once per year), with a choice of selected design materials and types.

Frequently Asked Questions
An in-kind donation is a type of charitable giving that offers goods and services instead of cash. For this program, we are donating our awards, as well as services required to produce the awards for you and ship them to you.
No. You choose awards from our current catalog. We provide the master artwork setup (including your logo if you provide one) and personalize your awards as you see fit. We send the award proofs to you for your approval prior to production. When your awards are ready, we deliver or ship them to you via UPS Ground at our expense.
Please note that custom awards (creation of something outside of our standard catalog) and graphic design services (logo design/redesign, photo cleanup) are not included in the grant.
Please allow up to 8 weeks to receive a response regarding the status of your application.
We ask that you send us a letter confirming receipt of the award donation.
As part of our company’s commitment to transparency, we will make public the names of all organizations who receive grants from us.
If you would like to acknowledge us via social media, we would of course be grateful, but this is not a requirement to receive a grant. We do reserve the right to repost any photos of our products that we find in the public domain.
Yes, previous grant winners are welcome to reapply. Please reapply six months prior to your anticipated event.
We accept one proposal per organization for each calendar year. If rejected, you are eligible to apply again in the next calendar year.
Rivanna was founded twenty years ago with a mission to create jobs for recently arrived refugees. Diversity and inclusion have always been priorities for us. We launched this grant program because we were looking for a way to more directly tie our work to the communities we serve. While we have a long tradition of making in-kind contributions to qualifying nonprofits, we want to more proactively support those fighting racism and promoting environmental justice. At a personal level, we also want to be the ones who actually make the awards for our community heroes and for those to whom we are most grateful.
