Shipping Carbon Neutral Since 2019

Originally published in 2019. We’ve updated this post to reflect our ongoing commitment to carbon-neutral shipping and our long-standing partnership with UPS.

Since January 1, 2019, Rivanna has shipped all awards, plaques, and gifts using UPS carbon neutral shipping — a program that offsets the greenhouse gas emissions associated with package delivery worldwide.

UPS has been our primary carrier since we shipped our first package in 2002. Today, we participate in their contractual carbon-neutral program, which covers parcel, freight, air, and ocean shipments. This is especially important for our customers with large or international award programs.

By shifting to UPS’s integrated offset program, we’ve been able to eliminate the need for manual emissions tracking and third-party offset purchases — saving time and ensuring high-quality results. UPS offsets support projects like reforestation, landfill gas capture, wastewater treatment, and methane destruction.

You’ll now see a note on each UPS label confirming that the shipment is carbon neutral — a quiet but meaningful reminder that every step in the award journey can be climate-conscious.
